We are a specialist family owned Letting Agent in the West Midlands.

We let and manage properties in Halesowen, Quinton, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill, Sedgley and surrounding areas.

Tom Kavanagh has over 30 years’ experience in the property industry and we have over 60 years’ combined experience across our nine team members, many being Propertymark ARLA qualified. What matters to us is the quality of work we do and the service we provide to our clients. We pride ourselves on delivering a first-class customer service and unrivalled local knowledge. We lead the way for innovation in the local lettings market.

We are Property owners and Landlords ourselves so we are in tune with what our Landlords are looking for in an agent. We use state of the art systems and software to ensure we protect all parties concerned in the Lettings sector and have the authority to advise on all areas within our sector whether that be the latest legislation, advice on your portfolio and returns or where to invest next. All our team live locally; this means we can pass on our unrivalled knowledge.

The Team

Tom Kavanagh

Managing Director

A talented all-round business-man, entrepreneur and Landlord himself, he’s in tune with what Landlords are looking for in a Letting agent.

Tom has been involved in the property industry since the mid-eighties and in that time has certainly seen the highs and lows, he knows what it takes to succeed in both a difficult and thriving market place.

He has numerous industry qualifications which include MARLA (Residential Lettings), CPEA (Residential Estate Agency), DipDEA (Domestic Energy Assessment). He holds a diploma in Green Deal Domestic Advice and during his long and successful career, he has also achieved qualification in CMAP/FPC (Residential Mortgages/Financial Planning).

Prior to running his own property related businesses in the area, Tom was a leading Regional Sales Manager for a large nationwide Corporate Estate Agency/Financial Services company.

The skills he gained gave him a solid foundation, he was instrumental in setting up ‘Henley Financial Services’ specialising in residential mortgages. The strong relationships he had built and the knowledge he had gained within the industry led to the setting up of ‘Home & Away Estate & Lettings Agents’.

Pre-recession, Tom made the bold decision to focus on Residential Lettings, He soon spotted an opportunity to forge links with Taylors Estate Agents and other local Estate Agents, who at the time had no lettings arm. This led to the birth of ‘Taylors Lettings Ltd’, a brand-new company owned and run by Tom, which under his leadership were soon outperforming local competitors.

Tom and his passionate team have the knack of letting property down to a fine art, resulting in a company who provide a truly unrivalled service. Tom is highly regarded by his colleagues and staff.

Sean Kavanagh

Senior Lettings Negotiator

From an early age Sean has been involved in Residential Lettings while continuing his studies at school and sixth form. Sean continued to pursue his interest and success in the English Language at Staffordshire University obtaining a Degree in English and Creative Writing. During this time, Sean gained some major ‘life experience’, but always kept an interest with relation to property.

After University, Sean was offered a role as a Lettings Negotiator at the newly formed Taylors Lettings Ltd. After only twelve months within this role, he was promoted to Senior Lettings Negotiator, a role which he retains to this day. Sean is a dedicated member of the Team with exceptional knowledge of the industry, in 2016 he became ‘ARLA Propertymark’ qualified. He wants to build on his success and cement his position in this ever-growing company.

Being local himself Sean provides not only extensive knowledge of the industry but also advice on the local area. He has a very vibrant, outgoing and approachable personality which works well when dealing with new clients, his enthusiasm comes across to clients and he receives many letters of thanks and praise from both new and existing clients.

Sarah Slater

Property Manager

Completing 7 years at Windsor High School and Sixth Form Sarah left with 9 GCSE’s and 2 A Levels. Upon leaving she was keen to start her career and quickly secured herself an apprenticeship with an established automobile organisation, after hard work and dedication soon became a permanent member of staff.

Always having a keen interest in the property industry when an opportunity arose to work for a local family run letting agent Sarah felt it was too good to miss and took a chance. Sarah started working for Taylors Lettings Ltd in October 2013 where she has continued to push herself and is a valued member of the team. Recently Sarah has achieved her ‘ARLA Propertymark’ qualification and is now working towards a Level 3 management course. With 4 years’ experience under her belt Sarah’s confidence has blossomed, with her likeable characteristics members of the public feel comfortable talking to her.

Sarah lives locally after purchasing her first home this year, which she shares with her partner Grant, a bearded dragon called Dilly and over 15 cold water fish. Sarah likes to travel as often as she can and has recently visited New York and Greece. Family and friends are a big part of Sarah’s life and she enjoys spending quality time with them.

Jamie Sheldon

Trainee Lettings Negotiator

Jamie has lived in the Midlands all his life. As a talented footballer, he was signed to Birmingham City Academy playing for 8 years, he also represented England at under 17’s level. After being released he has continued to play semi pro at Hednesford Town.

Jamie joined Taylors Lettings in January 2017 on a Business Apprenticeship. As a confident individual, he enjoys meeting clients and he has quickly grasped the processes within Lettings. He is very thorough and can advise potential tenants on the process, from booking a viewing through to moving in to their new home. He’s enjoying the buzz of our busy office and will be looking to build on the experience he has already gained.

Libby Pugh

Branch Administrator

Libby joined the Team as a ‘Trainee Administrator’ and is currently on a Business Apprenticeship. In the short time she has been with us her knowledge and confidence have developed. She is now able to advise on the lettings process and deals with Tenants and Landlords on a daily basis.

With a keen interest in Social Media she has taken on this area of the business. Her friendly and outgoing personality means clients quickly warm to her. In August 2017 she will complete the first part of her Apprenticeship and she wants to continue working in an industry she has grown to love.

Libby’s main hobby is looking after her 11 month old Alaskan Malamute​ and her main achievement from 2016 was passing her driving test and securing an apprenticeship here at Kavanagh & Co!
